Hasselblad 500 EL Data Camera HEDC 'Jim Irwin'
The Hasselblad 500 EL Data Camera HEDC 'Jim Irwin' is a medium-format motorised film camera tied to NASA's Apollo programme, named after Apollo 15 astronaut James Irwin. It is a specialist collector-grade variant of the 500 EL family, sitting at the very top of the Hasselblad market.
This is an exceptionally rare reference and only a single result is recorded in our database: a UK auction hammer of £75,000 in 2013, with no further sales since. Today, with just one wholesale saleroom data point and no recent activity, any current value or price estimate carries significant uncertainty, and what such an example sells for now would depend heavily on provenance and documentation.
Sales History
Prices shown are UK auction hammer results — the wholesale level achieved in the saleroom. Neither buyer’s nor seller’s commission is included. Dealer and retail asking prices are typically higher.

very rare, early authentic for NASA modified 500 EL/M with black anodised finish (this is an original 'Moon' camera and not a replica!). It is from the second generation NASA motor-driven cameras and which was used on Skylab 3 and Skylab 4 missions in 1973 (documentation copies and related information included).
