Ica Travel (856 - 13x18)
The Ica Travel (model 856) is a German-made folding plate camera taking 13x18 cm sheets, produced by Ica AG of Dresden in the early twentieth century before the company was absorbed into Zeiss Ikon in 1926. It was positioned as a large-format travel-oriented field camera for professional and serious amateur use.
Auction data for the 13x18 Travel 856 is extremely thin: the only recorded UK saleroom result, from November 2013, hammered at £360 (commission excluded). With a single data point on file, today's value for a comparable example is best treated as a guideline around that level rather than an established market price, and condition, completeness of the original plate holders, and bellows integrity will materially affect what the camera sells for.
Sales History
Prices shown are UK auction hammer results — the wholesale level achieved in the saleroom. Neither buyer’s nor seller’s commission is included. Dealer and retail asking prices are typically higher.
