Minolta SR-1
The Minolta SR-1 is a 35mm SLR introduced in the late 1950s as a more affordable counterpart to the SR-2, sharing the same Minolta SR bayonet mount. It was positioned as an entry into Minolta's first SLR system and remained in the lineup, with revisions, into the 1960s.
Hammer prices for SR-1 chrome bodies at UK auction have been thin and inconsistent, with two recorded results of £365 and £440, giving a midpoint around £400. With so few sales, today's value is best treated as indicative rather than a firm market level, and condition of the meter coupling, shutter and chrome plating tends to drive what a clean example sells for.

Frequently asked questions
What is a Minolta SR-1 chrome worth today?
Based on UK auction hammer results, an SR-1 chrome body has sold in the £370–£440 range, though the sample is small and a typical working example in average cosmetic condition would normally be expected to sit at the lower end of that band.
How much does a Minolta SR-1 sell for at auction?
The two recorded UK hammer prices are £365 and £440, so recent saleroom value sits around the £400 mark for the chrome body.
Is the Minolta SR-1 a good buyer's camera?
It is a fully mechanical 35mm SLR on the Minolta SR mount, so price should reflect shutter accuracy and cosmetic condition rather than features; budget for a service if speeds are off.
