Rollei Rolleiflex 2.8 F
The Rolleiflex 2.8F is a 6x6 medium-format twin-lens reflex camera made by Franke & Heidecke in Germany, introduced in 1960 as the top model in the 2.8-series TLR line. It shoots 120 roll film and was fitted with either a Carl Zeiss Planar 80mm f/2.8 or a Schneider Xenotar 80mm f/2.8 taking lens, positioning it at the professional end of the Rolleiflex range when new.
At recent UK auction, hammer prices for the Rolleiflex 2.8F have ranged from around £440 to £1,200, with a median close to £810 based on the last three years of saleroom results. As of 2026 the best-presented bodies with clean Planar or Xenotar glass and a working meter continue to sell for four-figure sums, while scruffier examples with haze, meter faults or missing accessories routinely sell for under £600. Condition and completeness drive the spread more than any other factor, so what a 2.8F is worth at wholesale level depends heavily on optics, shutter health and cosmetics.
