Ernemann Minaitur Ernoflex

The Ernemann Miniatur Ernoflex is a small-format single-lens reflex camera made by the Dresden firm Ernemann in the 1920s. It uses a waist-level reflex viewing system with a focal-plane shutter, in a compact leather-covered wooden body aimed at photographers who wanted SLR handling in a pocketable size.

At recent UK auction, hammer prices for the Miniatur Ernoflex have ranged from around £60 to £430, with two November 2025 results of £60 and £160 suggesting a current median value near £160 for average examples. A stronger 2020 sale reached £434, and an older 2002 result of £1,000 shows that exceptional, complete examples have historically sold for much more. As of today the camera is thinly traded, and the price a given example sells for depends heavily on shutter condition, the state of the leather covering, and whether the original lens and plate holders are present — all figures quoted here are saleroom hammer results, not retail asking prices.
