Leitz M2-M
The Leitz M2-M is a 35mm rangefinder camera using the Leica M bayonet mount, produced as a specialist variant of the M2 built to accept a motor drive. It was made in small numbers during the mid-1960s, which is central to its scarcity today.
At recent UK auction, hammer prices for the M2-M have ranged from around £2,200 to £6,000, with the two middle results clustered close to £2,600–£2,700. As of today in 2026, the worth of an M2-M is driven almost entirely by condition, completeness and whether a compatible motor is present — clean, documented examples sell for a strong premium over well-used bodies, which is typical for low-production M-series variants.
