Leitz M2
The Leitz M2 is a 35mm rangefinder camera using the Leica M bayonet mount, introduced in the late 1950s. It sat below the M3 in Leitz's line-up at launch, offering 35/50/90mm viewfinder framelines aimed at photographers working with a wider standard lens than the M3's 50mm base.
Across 20 UK auction results recorded between 2022 and late 2025, hammer prices for the M2 body range from £550 to around £2,100, with a median near £825. Most examples clear between roughly £700 and £950, while the highest results (£1,300–£2,100) reflect cleaner or more complete bodies; condition and originality account for most of the spread.

Included in this lot are a signed copy of the sought-after artbook 'Blackout Leica Museum' (Berlin, 1976, near-mint condition) and a letter of provenance. Sarkis Zabunyan (* 1938) Sarkis Zabunyan, known by his first name SARKIS, is a French artist of Armenian origin. His fascination for art began when, as a teenager, he saw an illustration of Edvard Munch's "The Scream" in the newspaper. In 1964 he emigrated to Paris with his wife and set up a studio in the Paris suburb of Villejuif.
