Leitz Minilux
The Leica Minilux is a 35mm compact film camera introduced in 1995, fitted with a fixed Leica Summarit 40mm f/2.4 lens and housed in a titanium-finished body. It was positioned at the top end of the premium point-and-shoot market, aimed at photographers who wanted a pocketable autofocus camera with Leica optics rather than a rangefinder body.
At recent UK auction, hammer prices for the Minilux have clustered between roughly £550 and £690, with a median around £625 based on 2023–2025 results — a clear step up from the £340–£390 range seen in 2018. In today's market the Minilux is worth noticeably more than it was five or six years ago, and clean, fully working examples sell for prices at the upper end of that band while cameras with the well-known electronic fault sell for considerably less.
